South of Punta Arenas, the road gives way to a walk beside the Strait of Magellan. The coastal route combines beach sections and forest views on the way to San Isidro Lighthouse, part of the region’s maritime history.
What the experience involves
Our team’s itinerary involves an 8 km round-trip walk. Transport, a guide and trekking poles are included. Surfaces can be uneven or wet, and tides affect passage along the coast.
Before you travel
Bring footwear with good grip, a waterproof windproof jacket, food and water. We check conditions before departure, especially in winter. This excursion goes to the lighthouse and back; it is not the expedition to Cabo Froward.
