From Punta Arenas, the catamaran crosses the Strait of Magellan to Isla Magdalena. After landing, the marked path leads through the Magellanic penguin colony towards the lighthouse. During the season, you can watch penguins moving between their nests and the shore.
What the experience involves
The visit includes island admission and one hour on the trail. Stay on the marked path, let the animals pass and follow your guide’s instructions. The catamaran visits Magdalena; the small-boat alternative also includes Isla Marta.
Before you travel
The tour season runs from October to March. Sailing and landing depend on sea conditions and access permission. Bring warm layers and a windproof jacket even in summer. The Plus Cabin option includes accommodation pickup and a snack.

If weather causes a cancellation
If the sailing does not depart, you receive a full refund or can reschedule. If it departs but cannot land, the operator’s written conditions provide a 50% refund.
How the booking is confirmed
- If direct payment is enabled for the tour, you can pay immediately.
