Pali Aike offers a different landscape from the forests and glaciers of Magallanes. The road from Punta Arenas crosses steppe to a field of lava and craters. The shapes of the rock reveal the volcanic activity that transformed the area.

What the experience involves

The park also preserves archaeological sites linked to early human presence in the area. The route depends on open visitor areas and conditions on the day. Your guide accompanies the walks and explains the landscape.

Before you travel

Transport and a guide are included; park admission, meals and water are separate. Bring hiking footwear and protection from wind. The season runs from spring to autumn, subject to park opening dates.

Does the tour cross into Argentina?

No. The route to Pali Aike stays in Chile, although it passes near the border region.
